  The Villages is once again participating in the College Colors Day event on Friday, August 29th at Lake Sumter Landing Square.

  The Iowa Club President along with his helpers will be setting up tents in the Lake Sumter Landing Square - hoping to find a shady location.

  Wear your favorite Iowa based University or College apparel, bring your own chairs, beverages, and snacks and join us as we celebrate our favorite college team while tailgating with other Club Members. 

  You can enjoy festivities from 2:00 to 8:00 PM but ask that you plan to be present at 6:00 PM for College Colors parade.  Scooter the DJ will be the nightly entertainment starting at 5:00 PM.

  The "official" College Colors Day Funds For Food starts Monday, August 17th and runs through August 28th.  

  IF you decide to make a contribution, the pick list includes Iowa State University, University of Iowa, and University of Northern Iowa. Or you can fill in another Iowa College or University of your choice. 

  How to Donate:

  (By Check)

  You can donate by submitting a check along with a Funds for Food Check Submission form Funds 4 Food at any Citizens First Bank location.  Make checks out to Beyond the Walls Ministry.

  (Online)

  Go to the Villages Daily Sun and use the secure form to submit a donation with a credit or debit card.  As of this email the link is not available on The Villages Daily Sun's home page but should be present when donation acceptance begins on Monday, August 18th.

  (QR Code)

  The QR Code equivalent QR Code that will take you to the correct page without the need to login, can be found by clicking the QR Code link in blue.

  The three teams that donate the most get bragging rights and a trophy!  This year Publix would like to give First place a $250 Publix gift card.  Winners of this competition will be announced sometime between 6:00 and 7:00 PM.

  Thank you in advance for considering making a donation on behalf of one of the 3 Iowa state universities or an Iowa college/university of your choice. The real winners will be the four participating food pantries.

  Join fellow The Villages Iowa Club MEMBERS in the monthly golf scramble.

  NOTE:  Golf Scrambles are on
  SUNDAYS September through November.

  
  

  Cost to play is $1.00/person collected at the golf course. The Club will use the cash collected to award prizes (lowest score for the foursome/course, closest to the hole, longest drive, etc.) at the luncheon after you complete your round.

  IF both members of a HOUSEHOLD are going to play in the Golf Scramble, BOTH MEMBERS MUST BE REGISTERED FOR THE GOLF SCRAMBLE (either using their own Club profile (if each member has their own email address) or using the ADDITIONAL ATTENDEE button during one of the member's registration process).

  KEY NOTE:  To help ensure the Club gets a tee time reservation, the Club now includes multiple Executive golf courses NORTH of Co Rd 466 on the reservation request. Once the Club receives the tee time confirmation (on the Wednesday prior to the Scramble), you will receive notification of what time and golf course you will play.

  
  

  NOTES:

  • The Club limits the Monthly Golf Scramble registration to paid Club members (including the registration of one (1) Household member as a guest).
  • The Villages tee time reservation system only allows the Club to enter a maximum of 64 golfers between two (2) tee time reservations.
  • Once there are 64 registrations, you can continue to register. The registration process will add your name to the event's WAITLIST. The Club will use the WAITLIST, based on order of registration on the Waitlist, to fill in golfers IF there are any cancellations.
  • IF the Club is successful in getting tee times, you will receive an email from Admin@villagesiowaclub.com. This email will include the golf course(s), tee time pairings, and location of the luncheon after golfing.

  Enjoy a “Friday Night Lights” supporting The Villages Charter School’s mighty Buffalos as they take on the Astronauts from Astronaut HS from Titusville, FL.

  Attendees can purchase tickets at the gate (payable by cash or credit card) OR purchase tickets online payable by credit card ($9.00).  NOTE: If purchasing online YOUR PHONE WILL BE YOUR TICKET.

  Club Members are welcome to gather at Victory Sports Grill, 2209 Dr Randy McDaniel Way, Sumterville, Fl (aka in Middleton) for a pre-game happy hour and/or dinner.

  Registration for the Purpose of Attendee Count Opens

  September 24th through October 8th

  We ask you to register with the club for this event in order to get a count of how many people plan to attend, (weather permitting), so the Club can try to hold a seating area in the bleachers for club members to sit in as a group.
